Telepractice

Many speech-language therapy services can be conducted through Telepractice (TLP).  A password-protected internet service is used for video conferencing between clinicians and clients.  The necessary equipment is your home computer or laptop with high speed broadband, a camera, speakers (or headset) and microphone. Privacy is protected, and the clinician’s computer screen cannot be seen by unauthorized personnel. The clinician will display worksheets and other materials on the computer screen. The materials can be printed on the home computer by the recipient to use for review. In addition to the worksheets, the video and audio allow “real time” interaction to see and hear the clinician’s instructions. These video conference sessions offer the same quality as ‘in-person’ instruction.
