Mike’s degrees have all been from OSU (’72, ’79, ’82). He joined the faculty in Speech and Hearing Science in1983 and has had a joint appointment in Otolaryngology since 1984. Over the years he has seen his once a month voice disorders clinic mushroom into the current Voice and Swallowing Disorders Clinic of the James Cancer Hospital with five full time SLPs. He has also participated in the formation of the Swank Voice Laboratory with a graduate specialization in vocal health, sponsored by Speech & Hearing, Vocal Music and Otolaryngology. He has served as associate editor for Language, Speech and Hearing Services in Schools, as a site visitor for the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, as department representative to the Arts and Sciences Senate, and as a University Senator. He is currently the department’s coordinator for semester conversion.
