The Department of Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University enjoys an 80-year tradition of excellence in Research, Teaching, and Service.

From the first phonetics laboratory in 1929, our traditions have helped establish the field.

That tradition continues today.  Each year, our scholars are forging the future through advances in speech perception/production, language acquisition, ageing/stroke/dementia, and hearing loss.

We welcome you to explore Speech and Hearing Science at Ohio State and to join our tradition of excellence.
