Bobby Hansen had a stroke in November of 2022 and has been working on rehabilitating his swallow ever since. He came to the OSU SLHC Swallow Clinic for treatment in May of 2024 being unable to eat orally and relying on his feeding tube for nutrition and hydration. He worked so hard in therapy and at home, utilizing technology such as Synchrony surface electromyography (sEMG) for biofeedback as seen in the picture. He showed gradual improvement, increasing what he was able to swallow and how much he could eat and drink. This summer, he achieved his goal to have his feeding tube removed. Congratulations to Bobby for his achievement. We also thank him for allowing our graduate students the privilege of learning while providing his care. We couldn't provide the exceptional level of education we strive for without him!
