Dr. Cagla Kantarcigil has been awarded a two-year R03 grant as Principal Investigator from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) for her project: "The Mechanistic Role of Respiratory-Swallow Coordination in Chronic Dysphagia Following Cortical Ischemic Stroke." This important research will deepen our understanding of swallowing impairments following stroke and has the potential to inform future rehabilitation approaches for individuals living with chronic dysphagia.
