Sophia Nichols, PhD candidate in Dr. Lundine’s CABI Lab, was awarded a highly competitive OSU Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) T32 grant to fully fund the last year (or two!) of her dissertation. Sophie’s project, “The Role of Language and Executive Functioning in Preschool Expulsion and Suspension,” aims to provide a nuanced view of preschool expulsion and suspension by directly assessing preschool children’s language, executive functioning, and experiences. The CTSI Predoctoral T32 Mentored Research Training Program provides full-time research training support for doctoral scholars enrolled in any Ohio State graduate degree program who are pursuing clinical and translational research or science. The program supports mentored research and career development opportunities designed to prepare the next generation of clinical and translational scientists. We are so proud of Sophie and cannot wait to see the results of this important work!
