Prof. Tamati was recently awarded an R01 from NIH as co-principal investigator.  The work is a collaboration with Dr. Aaron Moberly of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The project “Measuring Meaningful Outcomes for Adults with Cochlear Implants across the Lifespan” will use mixed quantitative and qualitative methods to characterize age-specific communication and psychosocial outcomes and priorities of adults with hearing loss who use cochlear implants. Findings will support development of a meaningful toolbox of outcome measures relevant for defining individual profiles of needs and abilities of adult cochlear implant users, contributing to precision hearing healthcare approaches that maximize the broader health benefits of cochlear implantation across the lifespan.
