3rd year AuD student, Christina Martin-Smith, received the Ohio Academy of Audiology (OAA) Julie S. Kelly Memorial Scholarship. The Julie S. Kelly Memorial Scholarship is awarded to one audiology student in Ohio based on academic achievement, overall personal achievement, personal audiology goals, and strength of reference letters.
Christina also presented her capstone research project, The Impact of COVID-19 on Peripheral and Central Auditory Function in Adults, at the annual American Academy of Audiology (AAA) conference in New Orleans a the end of March.

2nd year AuD student, Kiersten Spires, visited juniors from the Ohio Valley Career & Technical Center Teaching Professions program on April 11. She shared about the many possibilities in the field of audiology and discussed the importance that teachers play in identifying student needs in this field. Her expertise provided students with wonderful insight and a better understanding of professions within this career pathway. While visiting she shared some important tips and information about the care and safety of our ears and the next steps to pursuing a career as an audiologist.
