Tinnitus Evaluations

Ringing or buzzing in the ears, also known as tinnitus can be a frustrating and perplexing problem for people that experience it.

Tinnitus can occur by itself or with hearing loss. Even more frustrating than the tinnitus is the fact that many people who experience tinnitus are told by physicians and audiologists that they need to “learn to live with it”.

Tinnitus services at this clinic focus on the assessment of tinnitus in order to develop a management program.

Although there is no cure for tinnitus, the goal of services is to provide strategies that help to make the tinnitus less of an issue in the person’s life so they have the tools to be able to “live” with tinnitus.

Management services include fitting of tinnitus maskers, assessment and fit of the Neuromonics tinnitus device, and referring for otologic and psychological services as appropriate.

There is considerable information regarding tinnitus, however much of it is not based in evidence related to the assessment and management of tinnitus.

If you are experiencing tinnitus, a tinnitus evaluation by an audiologist may be warranted and can be performed at this clinic.

An excellent source of information regarding tinnitus is available at the American Tinnitus Association.
