Business Communication and Accent Modification

As companies emphasize quality customer service, the power of effective communication skills will be the best asset.  Any difficulty employees have with speaking or presentation skills may affect the job performance.  Speech training for Business Communication at this Clinic is designed to coach employees to become successful communicators in the workplace. Topics include clear articulation, voice use and projection, improved presentation style, and speaking rate.

People who are nonnative speakers of English may desire speech training to modify their native accent. Difficulties with pronunciation (consonant and vowel production), sentence intonation, implied meanings, cultural pragmatics and comprehension are typical areas targeted. Accent Modification services at this Clinic are geared toward clients who have a strong working knowledge of American English, yet their accent continues to hinder effective communication with their listeners.
