The Master of Arts Speech-Language Pathology program has two levels of English language requirements:
- OSU’s Graduate School requires proof of English proficiency for international students. This is typically a TOEFL score. Students with bachelor’s degrees or higher from certain countries are exempt from this requirement, and details are available on OSUs Graduate and Professional Admissions website.
- The Department of Speech and Hearing Science requires all students who are not native speakers of English to demonstrate additional English proficiency before beginning clinical training. Students must take the Oral Proficiency Assessment offered by OSU’s English as a Second Language Program and score a C4 or a C5 in order to begin clinical placements.
Please contact Graduate Program Coordinator, Sarah Wendel, at wendel.13@osu.edu if you have any questions about these requirements. Also, be sure to read the rest of our application instructions for special information about foreign transcripts, where to send your TOEFL score, and more.
