On Sunday, September 28th, students from the OSU chapter of NSSLHA volunteered at the Columbus Walk for Apraxia, helping with registration, crafts, face painting, and set up/clean up. With almost 100 walk locations, this is the largest fundraising and awareness event across the US and Canada that supports children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). CAS is a rare childhood speech disorder that affects a child's ability to make the complex sequenced movements that are necessary for intelligible speech. The Columbus walk raised over $12,000 that will go toward funding programs for families and service providers. Thank you to our student volunteers!
