CBIRD
This semester, Aphasia Laboratory members Grace Terry (doctoral candidate) and Natalie Freitag (MA-SLP/PhD student) attended the Chronic Brain Injury Research and Discovery (CBIRD) Research Day to present their work. Natalie presented a short talk and was awarded Best Graduate Poster for Recovery!
OSLHA
Grace and Natalie also presented their work at the Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing Association (OSLHA) Convention in April.
Publication
This semester Grace Terry, Professor Wilson, and Dr. Harnish published a Scoping review in Quality-of-Life Research titled "A Scoping Review on Aphasia and Technology: Exploring Mechanisms Enhancing Quality of Life”.
Brain Health Collective Symposium
Grace was selected to speak at the Brain Health Collective Symposium in Dayton earlier this semester. She presented results of a project that she, Dr. Brello, and Dr. Harnish have been working on for the past year. The project investigates the perspectives of care partners of people with aphasia on their aphasia education.
CTSI
Grace also had the opportunity to present work at the OSU Clinical and Translational Science Institute’s (CTSI) Annual Scientific Meeting.
Thesis Defense
Natalie successfully defended her master's thesis and will graduate from the MA-SLP program at the end of this semester. She will be staying in the department to continue the doctoral portions of her studies.
