In March, PhD students, Grace Terry and Gillian Anderson, presented posters at the Ohio Association of Gerontology of Aging Conference in Bowling Green. Grace presented a literature review on the role of group therapy in rebuilding of social capital of both people with aphasia and their care partners, and Gillian presented on intergenerational reading with acquired alexia.
Grace also gave a talk in late March at Ohio State’s Chronic Brain Injury Research Day event about preliminary results of her qualitative study aimed to speak to the perceptions of care-partners of PWA on their experiences.
Grace and Gillian then kicked off April by attending the Aphasia Access Leadership Summit in Pittsburg, PA. They both presented posters and had the opportunity to network and learn from leaders in the field of aphasiology.
