News from the Childhood Cognition, Communication, and Brain Injury (CABI) Lab
The CABI Lab received an extramural award from the Ohio Dept of Public Safety for $52,500 – Social Determinants of health, post-traumatic stress, & parenting practices following pediatric TBI. This project was submitted to help support/fund Nicole Viola’s dissertation work.
Along with a colleague from the OSU College of Public Health, the Star House (a drop-in center for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness) requested CABI Lab assistance with $25,000 in funding they had available from the Columbus Foundation. Our project is: Brain Injury and Violence Experiences in Youth Experiencing Homelessness.
Erika Hagen, PhD Candidate – had her first, first-authored manuscript published in the journal Topics in Early Childhood Special Education. Here paper is titled: Family functioning and child participation after early childhood traumatic brain injury.
PhD Candidates Nicole Viola and Erika Hagen presented research talks and posters at the Fifth Biennial International Conference on Paediatric Acquired Brain Injury in Glasgow, Scotland, in September.
