Speech and Hearing Science Professor receives $2.4 million NIH grant

Rachael Frush Holt, Associate Professor, Department of Speech and Hearing Science, was awarded a $2.4 million grant from the NIH.  She will team with experts from Indiana University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital to examine communication development in children fitted with cochlear implants and hearing aids.  Holt's work is among the first to examine formally the powerful influence that the family environment has on the outcomes of these children.
