Meredith Suhr, PhD/MA-SLP student, has received the Ray Travel Award to attend and present her work at the 2023 ASHA convention in Boston, MA. Unlike other programs that grant travel funds, the Ray Travel Award gives substantial weight to the applicant's service to his/her department, the university, and the surrounding community. Additionally, Ray Travel Award judges also take into account the applicant's professional goals, the nature of the conference being attended, and the applicant's ability to convey the focus of their research to a general audience.
Jessica Timog, PhD/MA-SLP student working with Dr. Jennifer Lundine, was a part of the 2021-2023 ADNiR cohort invited to give a brief presentation on her undergraduate research project at the Advanced Computational Neuroscience Network (ACNN) Conference hosted at OSU on September 14. The Advancing Diversity in Neuroimaging Research (ADNiR) program is a 2-year scholarship through the CCBBI at OSU focusing on providing opportunities for underrepresented students interested in growing professional and academic research careers in neuroscience and neuroimaging. The title of her project was "Comparing Brain Networks Involved in Phonological and Semantic Processing using Voxel-based Lesion-Symptom Mapping,” a project mentored by Dr. Stacy Harnish.
