OSU National Student Speech Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) News
This year, NSSLHA acknowledged many accomplishments at our annual NSSLHA Banquet. We celebrated 7 educational meetings, 7 social meetings, 3 Faculty Friday events, our Back to School BBQ, and multiple fundraisers. This year, NSSLHA also participated in BuckeyeThon, an initiative that serves to create awareness and raise funds for children with cancer. We also continued our work with committees: the Literacy Committee (40 active members), the Advocacy Committee (9 active members), and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (8 active members). These committees were all extremely successful in highlighting often overlooked aspects of the speech and hearing science professions.
Our executive board for the 2023-2024 academic year is as follows:
- President- Laura Martel
- Vice President- Ava Hoersten
- Secretary- Gabby Offredo
- Treasurer- Ashley Sukoff
- Social/Outreach Chair- Brie Glenn
- Education Chair- Lexie Wood
- Marketing/Design Chair- Olivia Rein
- Fundraising Chair- Natalie Schultz
- Faculty/Graduate Student Liaison- Emma Cronin
We are so proud of our members and are especially excited for the 60 individuals graduating from the Speech and Hearing Department. We wish them all the best for their future endeavors and cannot wait to see where life takes them. Looking forward to another incredible year with NSSLHA!
