2012 Recipient of Distinguished Alumni Award

Linda Lombardino, PhD is the recipient of the Department of Speech and Hearing Science’s 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award.  The award recognizes alumni who have make significant contribuitons to the profession of Speech-Language Pathology demonstrating the Ohio State motto “Do Something Great”.

Linda Lombardino, Ph.D., is a professor of Speech-Language Pathology who had been employed at the University of Florida in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders for over 30 years where she taught graduate course in spoken and written language disorders. Her area of specialization is developmental dyslexia. She served as the director of the University of Florida Dyslexia Clinic (formerly located in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences) in which she trained graduate students in the differential diagnosis of reading difficulties. She has recently joined the Department of Special Education at the University of Florida. Over the past 12 years, she has been invited to conduct numerous continuing education institutes on reading disabilities for speech-language pathologists. She has authored numerous papers in the area of reading disabilities, co-authored the Assessment of Literacy and Language, and recently completed a book, The Multidimensional Model for Assessing Reading and Writing Disorders with Delmar/Cengage Press.
