Graduate Students Present at World Voice Day Conference

The Ohio State Singing Health Specialization (SHS) hosted the World Voice Day conference event on April 16, 2022.  Four out of five student/alumnus presentations were represented by our graduate students in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science: 

  • Shelby Martell: Velopharyngeal Timing in Classical Singers
  • Robbie Davidson: An Argument for the Implementation of Vocal Cool-Down Exercises
  • Amber Blaylock: Exploring Lax Vox as a Component of Gender-Affirming Voice Therapy for Singers and Speakers
  • Karen Perta: The Role of Instructions in Motor Learning of Oral vs. Nasalized Speech Targets

World Voice Day is celebrated every April 16th with the main goal of increasing public awareness throughout the world of the importance of the voice and the impact of voice problems.
