PhD Candidate Receives ASHA Scholarship

Jenny Lundine

Jenny Lundine was one of 20 doctoral students in the country to receive a 2015 New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship in the amount of $10,000, funded by the American Speech & Hearing Foundation. The intention of this program is to support strong doctoral candidates who will pursue a teacher-investigator career. Its goal is to strengthen doctoral education and research support in the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.  Jenny is the lab manager for the Aphasia Laboratory. Her dissertation will investigate how adolescents who are typically developing and those with brain injury are able to summarize two types of expository discourse and obtain preliminary information about the relationship of summarization quality to executive function and language abilities in these populations.
