The SLP's Role in Mental Health

The SLP's Role in Mental Health

Sophia Nichols, a 2nd year M.A. SLP student, presented a talk titled "The SLP's Role in Mental Health" to an interdisciplinary group of speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and recreation therapists at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) on March 5, 2020. This talk shared results from a national survey of SLPs regarding their perspective on mental health diagnoses and their relation to our field. This was shared with NCH as they prepare to open the Big Lots Behavioral Health Pavilion - the largest standalone facility dedicated to assessment, treatment, and research of pediatric mental and behavioral health. Sophie worked on this project under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Lundine. We are proud of your work on this important project, Sophie!
