Undergraduate SHS Students Receive ASC Research Scholarships
Three Speech and Hearing Science undergraduate students – (from left to right) Sarah Bolt, Holly Cassidy, and Haylea Page - have been awarded the ASC Undergraduate Research Scholarship to pursue their research projects!
Through her virtual speech perception study, Sarah will explore the effect of dialect in the listeners’ sensitivity or tolerance of nasality using synthetic sentences with varying degrees of nasality. Cassidy plans to examine the relationship between age and hearing loss in relation to driving performance. Haylea’s work involves developing analytical protocols and generating 3D surface models conducive to visualizing selected velopharyngeal muscles based on MRI data.
Congratulations, Sarah, Holly, and Haylea, and we look forward to learning more about your projects!
