Dr. Eric Bielefeld, Professor and Department Chair, has received the President and Provost’s Award for Distinguished Faculty Service. This award annually recognizes up to three tenure-track, clinical, or research faculty members who have been at Ohio State for at least five years. Their contributions to the development and implementation of university policies and programs, through non-administrative roles, have been extensive and have made documentable impact on the quality of the university.

Nominees will have served in leadership roles (either elected or appointed), on university-level committees, or in similar capacities and should have evidence of continuing effective teaching and an active program of research, scholarship, or creative work.  University leaders, Karla Zadnik, David Horn, Patrick Louchouarn, Helen Malone, and Randy Smith, surprised Dr. Bielefeld during his Neurology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism course on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Congrats, Dr. Bielefeld! The Department of Speech and Hearing Science is very proud of you!
